The dewatering return on investment.
How can Somat sludge thickening and dewatering technology payback for you?
The Som-A-System® is a uniquely practical method of solids dewatering. The self-contained system is simple and efficient, self cleaning, able to operate unattended, and occupies as little as 24 square feet of floor space.
Designed for wastewater treatment plants with sludge flow rates from as low as 300 gallons per hour to as high as 7,200 gallons per hour, the Som-A-System® includes a polymer conditioning system, one or more Som-A-Presses ®, a Som-A-Trol ® electrical control panel, all necessary piping, valves and instrumentation, and an optional sludge feed pump.
In a typical wastewater treatment plant, a Som-A-System ® will dewater from 100 to 2,250 pounds of solids per hour. In terms of hydraulic capacity, this translates into 300 to 7,200 gallons of liquid sludge per hour.
Sludge feed solids from less than 1% to over 8% can be automatically and efficiently dewatered. Thickened sludge can be pumped through existing pipes and equipment. Completely dewatered sludge cake, ranging from 10% to 25% solids, can be discharged directly from the press to a truck, conveyor or haul-away container.
The Som-A-System ® offers a low capital cost alternative to other dewatering methods. That, combined with its low day-to-day expenses, makes it the prime candidate for installation in more than 90% of today's wastewater treatment plants.
